‘Man Overboard’ is the soaring new single from Tom A. Smith, taken from his brand new EP2. The eighteen-year-old is one of the UK’s most exciting talents thanks to his innate gift for melody writing and meaningful lyrics. This track in particular is driven by its lyrics, which bounce off of the bright, space-age sounds he crafts with his guitar and subtle synth work. “I struggled at the beginning of lockdown and it was songwriting and sending home recordings to my management that kept me focused,” he explains. “The first line summed up my mental health at the time (I put a brave face on it, I put on a front, but even the sharpest tools I have are feeling blunt).
